Need Opinions on Navigation

Hi - I' ve been her before being needy and dependent as I am with this stuff. Your help is paramount. I am so inept at times and others very creative, but there' s something lacking that I can' t put my finger on.

I oversee this website, design many of the pages, but there' s no cohesiveness, and I don' t mean in design so much. Let me tell you how this site works. The town departments are responsible for their own content publishing, etc., Some are up to speed, others are not. I have no idea how to manage the people involved who are at so many different levels and the Town (as a whole) is not on the same page either, so I' m having difficulty integrating anything. One site within our web wants total autonomy then whines back that they need help. It' s a bit out of control.

Can you folks discern what is happening by viewing different aspects of this site and give me some sort of opinion? Thanks. I know the Netscape thing is not addressed- that' s my fault and not an important obstacle within the Administration.

Thanks a bunch:-)

Paula,

I would:

  • Prepare a PowerPoint presentation outlining your problems, concerns, and proposed solutions.
  • Then I would sit down with each of your Selectmen, one at a time and present your case using a projector or a computer with a large monitor. Try to get them individually to understand the situation and how it could improve the town' s image to resolve the issues you present.
  • I assume that the Public Schools are a different governing body, so sit down with each member of the School board.
  • You will be refining your " pitch" following each meeting.
  • Finally, ask to present to the assembled bodies in a public meeting and again present your case. Each of the individuals will be before the public as a body, with the power to cause changes!
