I am writing a query as follows

SELECT * FROM employee
WHERE (emp_name = '::emp_name::' OR '::emp_name::'=' ')
AND (project = ': roject::' OR ': roject::'=' ')

The thing is this search works fine. I can search on either the emp_name field or the project field or both and i get desired results. However, every time when i go to open the page i am returned a list of values as if i had already done a major search.But after this if i go to do a search, everything is ok. Any ideas??
