Custom query results posted whenever a page is hit - 3/29/2001 18:27:00
OK... here's a question from a FP2000/Access database rookie. I would like to include the results of a custom query whenever a visitor hits a specific page. While this seems simple, here is the rub... the data I want to display is the result of having Access add two fields to see if it is greater than the field in a second table!

Confused? The site is for a company looking to track oil changes on equipment used on an hourly basis. There will be a form to enter the hour meter reading at the last oil change, a form to enter the hourly interval to change the oil, and a form to update the current hour meter reading on a weekly basis. When they open their page, I want FP to display the unit numbers where the current hour meeting reading (stored in one table) is greater than the hour meter reading at the last oil change plus the number of hour intervals they want to go between changes.

DOES THIS MAKE ANY SENSE TO ANYONE AND WHY DOES MY BRAIN FEEL LIKE IT HAS BEEN RUBBED WITH SANDPAPER EVERY TIME I THINK ABOUT THIS PROBLEM????

Are the 2 fields you are adding fixed (from a database) or are they input from a user?

The field containing the number of hours between service is fixed (set up in a fixed field when I built the database). On a different page, the user can update the service record (containing the field of the hour meter reading at the time of service) and the current hour meter reading (updated once a week by the user). Is this impossible?
