Recommendation for Spooky login - 3/29/2001 20:42:00
Hi Spooky:I have Spooky login on SQL 7. I have about a million tables in my database by now and I am losing track of which tables belong to what. Is it a MAJOR job to place "Spooky" (Spooky_Users)as the first word in the name of your tables? If not retroactively, in your next update? Its probably not a major at all, and yes it is a good idea. I keep it as it is mainly for compatibility. The main change would be to add a variable prefix to the database function in a_general. Its about the only place that calls the tables anyway. Ill add it to the next one so people can rename them if necessary

I looked on a_general couldn't figure out your answer. So I intentionally changed the table names on the SQL server hoping to get an error message leading me to the answer. It sort of did. Line 26, a_general. But now, what do I change? I was hoping to see table names that I just put "Spooky" in front of (like Spooky_User).Here is the text from a_general: Sub OpenDatabase(Source,CursorIn,LockTypeIn,OptionIn) Set objRS = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset") objRS.Open Source, sDSN, CursorIn, LockTypeIn, OptionIn End Sub Could you tell me what needs to be added so my tables begin with Spooky_ ? Thanks again! ------------------ www.Signingshotline.com lists EVERY upcoming athlete autograph appearance in the US and Canada

I had a closer look. As "source" could be table or SQL, you'd need to either specify it at the function call or at the string. If you havent changed yours too much, I can send you the changes?
