Well, the Outfronters have inspired me again. I needed text to wrap (flow) tightly around an irregular image, and I thought, " I' ve got to learn to do this without slices, stacks, tables, etc."
I found a decent tutorial that helps with float and clear aspects of CSS positioning.

In case you have not noticed there is now a separate forum on CSS here at OF.
It has lots of good questions/answers and information.
(don't really know how to make a link to a forum itself-- check the forum home page for the list of all the forums).
There is a really good post in that forum that has alot of links related to CSS.
c1sissy's list of CSS links It's been made a TOP post so you should not miss it.
As per the instructions at the top of the forum this sub-forum is just for listing links and resources that you found helpful. I'm working my way thru the links now. Comments and reactions will come later. Hope this is helpful to others.

For CSS layout templates have a look at
CSS depot
They are not full site templates, but give an excellent start for outlining a site layout.
