This is a topic where it is hard to get a right or wrong answer.

The bottom line is " ARE CUSTOMERS FINDING YOU?" If they are & they are coming from the search engines - you are probably doing ok.

If no one is finding you - you need to do something.

Changing pages to get better results - works for me. I have NEVER had a client stop the search engine program once they started. They liked the results. I have been called & thanked - which made my day.

There is alot of research that goes into it. I always have my clients look at who there competition is. I see what words they use, I see if it applies to them, you look at what the top words they want to be found under, If it is regional, etc.. A good meta description also helps.

It takes time but the results are worth it. I have also done free search engine work for some sites when I see they do not have any good meta' s or could not find them in the search engines When they started to get traffic they signed on.

One way to see if you need more SEO is if to read your logs & you see you how people are finding you - that will give you an idea if you need more SEO. If there is not much traffic under your keywords - you should look into doing some work.
