no results - 4/1/2001 21:34:00
I am a newbie to frontpage. I have made a database in access (my first feat in access as well...). I want to make a page that can search that database. what I came up with so far is this http://ramonaalumni.netfirms.com/class.asp the only problem is when I go to search I get no results. It does the same thing in preview too. I don't know what's wrong and I've been messing with it for a long time now. I went through the FAQs and did what it said exactly, no results then either. Of course Frontpage's help files were absolutely no help. Can anyone help? I'm sure it's something fairly simple that I'm missing too but I am failing to see it.

Can you confirm your server is NT and not Unix?

Do you have all your defaults set or are they blank. Fill in your defaults with a word that would never come up.------------------ www.Signingshotline.com lists EVERY upcoming athlete autograph appearance in the US and Canada

I tried to check on the NT thing but their web page didn't say anything about it in the FAQs. Any clue how I could find out ? Defaults meaning what ? I looked in the html and saw this. I'm not sure but is this where you're talking about ? s-sql="SELECT * FROM RamonaAlumni.mdb WHERE ("Class of" = ::Class_of:: AND "Last Name" = '::Last_Name::' AND "First Name" = '::First_Name::' AND "Middle Name" = '::Middle_Name::' AND Deceased = : :Deceased:: AND Remarks = '::Remarks::')" b-procedure="FALSE" clientside SuggestedExt="asp" s-DefaultFields="Class_of=&Last_Name=&First_Name=&Middle_Name=&Deceased=&Remarks=" s-NoRecordsFound="No records returned." i-MaxRecords="256" i-GroupSize="0" I also found this: fp_sQry="SELECT * FROM RamonaAlumni.mdb WHERE (""Class of"" = ::Class_of:: AND ""Last Name"" = '::Last_Name::' AND ""First Name"" = '::First_Name::' AND ""Middle Name"" = '::Middle_Name::' AND Deceased = : :Deceased:: AND Remarks = '::Remarks::')" fp_sDefault="Class_of=&Last_Name=&First_Name=&Middle_Name=&Deceased=&Remarks=" fp_sNoRecords="No records returned." okay, that server is on unix, I finally got an email back from them. I have a few other accounts on other servers that I'm still waiting on responses from.

By defaults I mean this line:DefaultFields="Class_of=&Last_Name=&First_Name=&Middle_Name=&Deceased=&Remarks=" In Step 3 I believe" More Options" there is a place to insert defaults. I would enter defualt words that would never come up. Spooky would be able to say this much better than I can, but I know the problem you are describing is similar to what I was having. ------------------ www.Signingshotline.com lists EVERY upcoming athlete autograph appearance in the US and Canada

Well guys I thank you for all of your help even though I finally gave up on the asp file. I found a way to convert the database to a flatline format and then I used a cgi script. Thanks again for trying, I just kept getting no where and decided to try another option.
