hello

would like you to look at www.leisure-ideas.com

I' ve just completed a major upgrade. There is still some work to do (some content to add etc.)

I' d like comments both design and usability.

Ask yourself the questions: would I use this site? If I wouldn' t why not?

immensely grateful

I really like the design and speed of the site. Very functional and user friendly.

If I had to point out anything would be the fonts. There seemed to be SLIGHT inconsistancies withing the font use. I personally don' t care for the " times new roman" and might go back to your Ariel/Verdana style that you used in other places.

Other than that it looks extremely professional.

Micah,

I had always thought leisure-ideas.com was for seniors. Silly me. So, at first, I didn' t think the image of the child under all the balls was suitable, but now I see it is.

Here' s a quick once-over. Very clean and nice site...I see where you are headed and it is very good.

On my screen there was a little placement problem with pages such as places/asp?Region=England. The header was to the left but the table was to the right. I don' t care for the border on the tables. It looks amateurish on a site as nice as yours. I absolutely love the lavender maps...England and N. Ireland.

I also like your " add my event" feature. Is that the old header on the " add my event page?" The events.asp page filled up the space very nicely. A little too much color in the text, i.e., red body text is a little too hard to read. Perhaps black body text and then use the red in the second title area.

All in all, a very nice job and even better when you add the rest of the content.

Oh, there' s an extra space in the on your title " Leisure idea of the moment" on the home page.

Hope this is helpful to you.

Seems harmless enough. Just one major thing that may or may not bug anyone else.

I view everything at 1024x768 resolution (you know, 21" monitors and all) and the top navigation seems to be preset to a certain width...it doesn' t extend all the way to the right side of the screen. There' s something else but I just can' t put my finger on it.

Other than that your direction seems to be heading towards the nice and clean aesthetic feel. I like nice and clean...even though my business partners probably wouldn' t agree.

Micah,

A few comments:

  • A lot of great information! Especially, the Places to Stay pages.
  • When viewed in NN 4.76 the line of text that reads: " Welcome to leisure-ideas.com, the..." is hidden at the top of the page under the slogan that reads " Have YOU and one lately?"
  • On the page " Things to do" , there are 15 text links when viewed with IE 6, NN 7 and Opera 6. Only 7 links when viewed with NN 4.76. The horizontal spacing of these links vary from browser to browser.
  • I wouldn' t have a page that says " coming soon" leave it out until ready to go.
  • The 3D button flags might offend some highly patriotic citizen.
