Personal form conformation page FP2K - 9/25/2002 21:04:09
I' m using FP2K, and I have a form set up for people to contact me.
I have made a personal page that is in the same style as the rest of my site because I didn' t like that plain white page. I went into form properties and selected that page as the results page.

My question is, will that page contain the results of the form as the default page did ? If not, how can this be done, or can it be done ?

Thank you.

I don' t think that can be done with the FP forms. But you can hand build your forms and use ASP to send form data in an email, and confirm the data entered on a confirmation page.

Step one: Make sure your host allows ASP scripting, and that you are hosted on a Windows server.

Step two: Find out what ASP mail system your host uses... CDONTS, ASPEmail, ASP-Mail, etc.

Step Three: Learn some ASP scripting (it' s not as tough as you might think)
:)

If I' m wrong and this can be done using the FP forms, someone please correct me... I' d love to know how!

You can create a custom confirmation page with the form fields included.

The first thing you need to do is decide which fields you want to display on the confirmation page and write down the name for each as it appears in the form field properties.

Then create your confirmation page and click insert/component/confirmation field, and type the first field name in the box provided. Repeat this procedure for each field that you want to display. You can also add text next to the results fields to reflect what the form field was asking for if you like.

Example, if you had a field called Name:, you could type Name: next to the [name] field result. That way when someone completes the form, it will display like this... Name: Swirl.

Save the page and then go back to your form. Right click on the form (somewhere inside the dotted box, but not on a form field box) and select form properties. Click the options button and then the confirmation tab. Locate the custom confirmation page you just created.

Save your form and publish.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info Swirl.

It worked like a charm. Now that confirmation page has the same feel as the rest of the site and better yet, looks complete.
