The site looks good...very easy to use and to the point. like a classified site should be.I would have to say the only thing i would change would be the BookJoint logo, to something that looks a little more profesional.
of course thats only my opinion. :)

Hi, Josh. Well, let' s get started.

#1. I get a ' Done, but with errors on page' message in the status bar.

#2. The ' bookjoint.com' section of the main banner logo doesn' t seem to fit in with the ' real life' pictures you have in the body of the page. I would suggest removing the effect (plastic/sunburst perhaps) and replacing it with a white dropshadow instead.

#3. The pictures you' re using for the Books and Music sections do not seem to fit with the rest of the clan. The Books picture is cartoonish in nature while the rest depict a ' real life' feel. Also, the Music picture seems to be too static. There' s no supporting background as is shown in the other pics.

#4. I' m viewing this on a T1 & 56k connection with a 21" monitor set at 1024x768 & 800x600 respectively. On both I see the following:
  • Sign Out > Home at the top is to the left of the screen while some information is centered horizontally in the middle of the page.
  • The Books, Automobiles, Music, etc. sections in the body of the page are to the left of the screen while some information is centered horizontally in the middle of the page.
  • The Footer (Terms of Use, Privacy, Copyright, etc, sections are to the left of the screen while some information is centered horizontally in the middle of the page.

This also happens on the links that contain the same information as the home page.

#5. On your FAQ page there seems to be no continuity in your font usage. I would stick with the Verdana, Tahoma or Arial instead of Times New Roman. And I would use the same logo from the main page instead of an entirely different one (my opinion). Also, I wouldn' t center the FAQ list. Just seems...well...weird to try and read it that way.

That' s it for now. Hope this is taken for what it is...my opinion.

I would center the text on the listings pages...that just seems like it should be centered, as it' s two lists...this way it looks like there should be third list or something.

I agree with the suggestion about the books logo; it does not fit with everything else. The logo on the forum (and every other page) should be the same as on the main page, in my opinion...not only does it help keep things uniform but it does save the user from having to wait for another new image to download.

I kind of like the main logo--though if you had more realistic books on there it would fit better with your other pictures.

Looks like a GREAT resource!!!

Josh,

There have been many comments above and I mostly agree with them. On another slant, all appeared well in IE 6, Opera 6 and NN 4.76. Something went haywire in NN 7:

:)

The blue buttons are ineffective.
