A link would be nice:-)

I have never understood why any one would force the visitor to go thru an extra (ENTER) step? The entrance/splash/whatever page adds nothing to the site except an extra step.

Big time horizontal scroll issue here.

Only page I looked at was the Brandt.htm page - you have three graphics that total about 450kb, where the entire page should be less than kb - on a T1 it took forever to load.

LOL, I visited www.winepress.com and wondered WHAT images Gil was talking about...there were NO images there! (well, one) and I thought Holy Smoke, they really took Gil' s comment to the opposite extreme!

I got the right URL...but while your pictures are pretty, they do take a while to load. The Rollovers on your navigation menu aren' t working either.

It' s pretty...try and optimize the pics somehow. I would ditch the splash page too...if you want to showcase the pictures perhaps you could have a gallery page for people to look at if they want to.

It' s funny how every site critique that involves a splash page gets the same comment, yet folks continue to use them. I' m with the rest of them Woodycam, I hate splash pages and rarely " click to enter" them unless as part of this forum.

By the way, your bottom right graphic (http://www.winepress.us/images/bottom_right.gif) appears misaligned on my screen so your right content box has a crooked bottom (the home page only).

I like the overall look and feel, color scheme etc., but I too suggest you work on the header graphic to get rid of that horiz. scroll.

Nice site overall, just needs a bit of tweaking, IMHO.

Joel,

I got lost in some of the pages, after a long scroll down a extremely long pages there were no links back to the home page, nor any other page for than " Collections" " Links" or " Feedback.

" back to Selections" simply took one back to the top of the page. Without a " back button" on my trackball, I couldn' t have gotten around your site. I suggest that the long pages be broken to several pages, one subject at a time. Far too much scrolling.

The site would hold together better if the same backgound image (or no image) were used on all pages.

I suppose you know that Those Elements is used on this web site: http://www.fortunecity.com/rivendell/crisis/953/pern/hu/dmetreth.htm

Thanks everyone, I have done some work, but I know it still needs more. Actually, I have the magazine WineMaker doing a full feature article on my www.winepress.us web page. They have a subscription base of 40,000 and total readership of 100,000 +.

Thanks for everyone' s ideas, and for now, I think the front " splash" page will stay. It kind of helps with my general eye catcher of before/after one year of vine growing.

Cheers,
Joel
