Your page took a while to download...

In your gallery, I would suggest having several thumbnails on one page, rather than force peopel to wait for one large image per page to load. I really didn' t have the inclination to visit the entire gallery, as I had no idea of how many pictures there were, and the first one, while it didn' t load SLOW, it wasn' t fast either....thumbnails would be great.

The site looks pretty neat, though. I didn' t know you could legally capture wild animals and sell them, though. Learn something new every day.

Xtreme2000,

The site looks very appropriate for your audience. Good layout and colors. Things I wouldn' t ordinarily like, I liked when it came to reptiles and such. I have a nine-year-old grandson that would love everything on your site. Everything loaded fine on DSL, but those with slower connections could suffer.

I had to go through the site thoroughly to understand what I would need to do to order. What I' m saying is that it is not clear, right away, how to order or what or where to order. Hope this helps.

Good job.:)

I will have to work on that issue, especially when the picture load real slow.

Hi Extreme,
I looked at your site with IE 6.0, 28.8 on 56K connection and resolution at 800 X 600.

(1) http://www.microdragons.com/
The page loaded in 45 seconds, extremely fast for me considering the image size. You could decrease the load time by reducing the 67.4 KB size of the image. Also, the green vertical scroll bar will not be visible by all users.

(2) http://www.microdragons.com/shop/arachnids.html
If a picture is not available, perhaps a description would help instead of a message as to " picture coming soon" ? Its somewhat like a link to " page under construction" .

(3) http://www.microdragons.com/shop/lizards.html
I became somewhat confused here as to links. There were the main navigation links beginning with " Home" .; the lizards links beginning with " Online Store" and then the vertical links beginning with " Agamids" . It could be me, but perhaps a linear/horizontal link line, with sub-links, would help to focus the eye.

Also, is " View Cart" a list of what has already been ordered? If so, I' d recommend a larger link as to " Add or Place Order to Shopping Cart" . It would seem to me that you would want to focus your viewers attention as to how to order and I did not see that on the pages.

I' m not a website designer, just a user who tries to view sites from a buyer' s perspective.

Being the owner of a 5+ foot iguana, I also hope you' re taking care of those critters [:p]

I hope this helped,
John

Thanks John,
I will keep it in mind and try to work on getting the stuffs fix. Hopefully it will come out well. As far as for the add to cart it is paypal default. But I will look into getting my own images for the shopping cart.

Thanks Once again!!!

When I first went into your site. I saw the online store, gallery and inventory. Went to inventory. Went to gallery. Then went to online store. It was hard to see the " ONLINE STORE :: AMPHIBIANS :: ARACHNIDS :: INVERTEBRATES :: LIZARDS :: SNAKES :: TURTLES\TORTOISES" because it is placed on top of the green pattern. So I missed it the first time. When I saw the huge inventory lists versus the two choices to order on each page in the online store, it was not clear to me what I should do. I now realize I should read your lengthy terms and conditions which I don' t want to take the time to do and maybe your customers won' t either. If I check out with my order, do things become clearer? Maybe I' m the only one who is confused.

What do you think should be done then? Im trying to make it easier for the customers to order online. Should there be some kind of instructions for the customers?

I hope this helps.

Take " welcome" off of the shop/page. You already say " welcome" on your home page. And, you say " welcome" again in the heading of the first paragraph to your online store. I' m thinking you might be trying to be too careful by filling up space. Welcome on the online store still makes me feel like I' m on the home page.

Then, move the links section for your online store to where " welcome" is on the shop/page and where AMPHIBIANS, etc. is on the subsequent pages.

Then, move your large headings (i.e. AMPHIBIANS, etc.) to the green patterned area. The font is larger and bolder and will show up on the pattern.

To me, this will clarify what I' m supposed to do in the online store. What I still don' t get is the huge inventory list versus the 10 or so reptiles I can order online. What if I want a Cat Gecko or a Fat Tail Gecko? What should I do? I just went back in and saw some sub/headings in the table which gave me more geckos, but no cat or fat tail. Do you see what I' m saying?

This is just one opinion. I' m sure others will be more helpful.:)

The reason that we have the inventory list was to show our customers that we do carry those animals, but as far as not having it at the online store (shopping cart) was because that we are out of stock at the moment. I hope that will make you less confuse. I will get with my partner thou and see if we can change it. So it will not mean that we have those animals in stock.

Thanks!! :)
That does look better. I guess it does help when you have a second set or even third set of eyes.

I will change all shop page to look the same to keep the same format.

I would suggest that you do the same to the sub-headings as you do to the main-headings...

It was hard to tell which sub-page I was in. I' d say on the main-headings, color them all green and the section I' m in would be white (like how you have it) and then color the sub-heading list white with the page I' m on in green!

s:) ...since I can' t do white here, I' ll color my example with black/green

HOME :: ONLINE SHOPPING :: GALLERY :: INVENTORY LISTS :: CONTACT INFORMATION :: TERMS

ONLINE STORE :: AMPHIBIANS :: ARACHNIDS :: INVERTEBRATES :: LIZARDS :: SNAKES :: TURTLES\TORTOISES

I' d also agree with the thumb-nail type gallary...and would also like to suggest that you put a brief summary with each picture (i.e., Gecko at 2 days old) or something. I didn' t know what some of them were, but would liked to have known.

s:) Best of luck!

Looks like everyone covered anything I' d have to say about the site. You get the navigation straightened out - and I' d like to see a thumbnail for each " item" you have for sale, since I don' t know what half of that stuff was - and you' ll have a great site.
I really enjoyed looking at your site. I have dsl so downloading the photos in the gallery was faster for me, but that was my favorite part!

basically i dont like your site design (layout) it' s looks to dark + old fashion layout.
I dont think ppl who dont like that dragons wont stay at your site for 1 minutes.
Because they dont intrested to browsing more.

Thanks for your input. But just because it is black in background, it does not mean that it is old fashion (boy I feel old:) hearing from a rookie:)). And as far as if they don' t like that dragons (It' s Bearded Dragons, and a lot of people who are in reptiles like it), They won' t look for it anyway. So, it does not matter if they are not interested to brouse the site. Anyway thanks again for your input!!!
