What' s the difference between the two " comment" tags above?

thanks, gail

Edit note: forget it, I think I finally figured it out: the first is for html, the second for comments in a css file.

I think the second is for creating a multi-line comment in PHP.

Nancy,

Am I incorrect then that they can be used in a CSS file?

thanks, gail

The above format for comments comes from C programming, so you may see it in other places also, and yes it is correct for comments in a stylesheet.

P.S. I had to look it up because I' ve not put comments in a stylesheet before. [:)]

/* comments */
/** comments **/
// comments //

Are pretty universal ways of commenting in most scripting languages.
