UK ISP Frontpage/database compatable - 5/2/2001 20:35:00
Please can anyone tell me where i can find a UK Frontpage/database site.
I have tried a few and most declare that they have the Frontpage extensions but after asking the functionality of the extensions and server i find that they are not database compatable only the standard forms,counters and Guest boards which i can use Perl to do anyway.
If anyone has any recommemded ISPs please can you let me know

I dont have any recommendations (Vince may - hes a little closer.
Mainly youll want an NT based server - FP and database are usually a given after that.------------------

Matthew why do you need a UK based ISP? Go international and get what you need, don't limit yourself. Chances are you can find a host in the US that has big pipes, fast servers and lots of clients from your country already. Point is don't limit yourself to geographical lines, this is the internet just because someone's server might be next door doesn't mean it'll be faster than the guy in the next state. Hi Matt,
we do actually use www.fasthosts.co.uk for some of our Windows 2000 server hosting. They have a pretty good package, Win2000 servers, FP extensions, DB friendly etc. However, I agree with Jess, don't feel tied to the UK. We also use American servers where it suits us, and quite possibly the larger proportion of people viewing your sites will be from the States anyway.All the best Vince

Try here:http://www.knx.net.uk Although I agree, a US host is just as good. The only difference is for support and telephoning, or expecting real people to answer your emails on your time schedule/zone.
