asp pages wont display - 10/15/2002 17:04:02
I am running Windows 2000 server, I have a site that has asp pages that are populated by Access DB. Today I noticed that the .htm pages display fine but the asp pages wont display, I get a " The page cannot be displayed" page. I published this site to another computer running xp pro and IIS and everything works fine including the asp pages. I have checked under properties and the two IIS are all set the same way. Can anyone tell me what could cause asp pages to stop displaying but still allow the html pages to display fine? Thanks for any help, driving me crazy!!

Did you do anything to your server configuration? If not, there is no reason for asp to stop processing.
If you ran the IIS lockdown tool, or installed any new software on the server that' s where I' d look for the problem.
Perhaps permissions got changed somewhere.

No lockdown tool has been used that I know of, If the permissions were somehow changed, could that affect just the asp pages and still allow the htm pages to work?? Even when I' m signed onto the server as an administrator I still cant view them so I' m not sure if its that, but I' ll check.

I dunno, I' m just guessing. Do a search on Google, this is not a one-of-a-kind problem, other server admins have had the same problem.
Unfortunately, I don' t know the definitive cure :)
