accessing data from database - 10/23/2002 15:19:24
I put together a form that sends survey results to a database.
It seems to be working, but I can' t (don' t know how) to access the data that is being sent to the database. My host (with whom I' ve had a lot of trouble) sent me an e-mail that states:
" To access your database you need to place an ASP program. The program will connect to the database and read and display the data."
I don' t know how to do what they' re asking and they haven' t been real helpful. I' ve researched this to the extent I can, but am having no luck. I don' t want site visitors to have access to this material, but I need to get to it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ASP is the typical method most folks use for connecting to a database... but Front page has the ability to set up a database connection for you.

There is a great tutorial by Spooky on the Front Page database interface, called the Database Region Wizard (I think... [:p])

Check it out HERE

I think you' ll find what you need there!

For details on coding in ASP, you might want to start at W3Schools and go from there... a bit more involved than the FP wizard tho... well worth the effort!

Good luck!

The form you made, are you submitting to an access database that you created with frontpage?

This will help in answering your question
