Kent -> Looking for a good hi-bandwidth NT host... (10/24/2002 12:26:46)

My large hobby/club site is currently killing me with additional bandwidth charges @ $4 per GB for anything over the basic plan. I' m currently running over 40GB a month.... This is due primarily to two things: lots of pics, and a Snitz-based forum/portal...

Can anyone recommend an affordable (i.e. <$100/mo) NT host that can provide:

1. ASP, MS Access, FrontPage support
2. 500 mb of disk space minimum
3. At least 40 GB of bandwidth/mo
4. 24 X 7 phone support
5. Control panel for configuration/maintenance
6. Strong customer service

Thanks in advance,

Kent

Kent,

Try looking over at Datapipe.

Here is the Windows server advanced plan, I believe it meets your requirements less 5GB bandwith a month. Pretty expensive but for your requirements the disk space and bandwith is what you will be charged on the most.

Not a rep just a very happy customer. By the way tech support is usually on the phone within one minute of placing a support call.

Hi

Brian is dead right - I can honestly say I' ve never found a better solution than Datapipe for Windows hosting, maybe a tad more expensive but when trusting your business to someone, it' s what makes the difference.

Thanks. I just checked them out, and did a Live Chat with a sales rep. They sell additional bandwidth at $50 per 10GB block, and don' t bill by GB. They recommended $270 a month for a dedicated NT server...

I can' t support that from a cashflow perspective. I may have to do something creative, like host the discussion forum/portal on one plan and the static FP HTML on another... or convert the Access DB to MySQL and go for a Linux dedicated server...

Geez. I' m at that " awkward size" where I' m not fitting the shared hosting plans, but can' t afford a dedicated server....

If anyone else has any creative suggestions, or hosting recommendations, I' m certainly scratching my head on this one...
