RE: Hits? Visits? - 11/4/2002 21:04:56
Gil, An interesting read. The article is quite true in that in days gone by people talked hits and not visitors, and I have had a few clients who still try and masquarade the number of hits as being actual visitors to their sites - despite being told this is not the case by not just me, but their ISP as well. And these people are trying to sell sponsorship and advertising based on hits not visitors - given their site is graphically heavy and has about 40 images per page - that' s a fair few hits per page on a site that only has about 10 pages. Do hit counters actually count anymore (and I mean wether they are significant or not) - who knows, still it' s nice to see how many actual visitors come to your site.

Hi, Interesting. Is there any website to which you can subscribe in order to have a real count of your site visitors? Thanks Hisham
