abrogard -> Won' t open pages & can' t go back (11/4/2002 1:18:51)

Hi all...

I' ve imported some files into Frontpage, into a ' web' I created and none of them will pop up into ' page' when I click on them. I have to open them by selecting ' open with frontpage' .

What' s the problem here? Anyone know?

And when I' m in ' Preview' mode and click on a link it will go to that page alright, but there' s no way to come back except click ' normal' and zoom back to the first page in ' normal mode' - like, you' ve lost your preview mode immediately.

Is this normal behaviour, too? We shouldn' t expect too much from the ' Preview' thing?

I still can' t help thinking it' s dangerous. It does unpredictable things. I tried to publish a file the other day and it said ' the file already exists do you want to replace it with your file' - except it didn' t say it as clearly as that and that is not what it meant. THAT is what I was (obviously) trying to do. It just confused me and I picked what I thought was the right option and it replaced my HOME file with the file on the WEB!! It turned around and did the exact opposite of what I' d opened the task for: publishing TO the web!!

far out. keeps you on your toes, eh?

regards.. abrogard...

Preview mode is not " web-serve" mode. To fully test, the web will need to be published.

this one is a totally lame warning and can happen even if the page is viewed by someone on the internet while you are working on it. If I have a file open and then I get this message, the answer is yes, overwrite. I want the file I am working on to be saved, not the one that exists on the server....
