How do I direct visitors from old URL to new one? - 3/6/2003 10:32:37
Hi there,
I' ve finally gotten my own domain :). Yippee!! Anyway, I now need to find out how to send visitors that go to my old URL to the new one. I' ve seen on some sites where there' s a little bit of text stating that the site has moved and if you wait a few seconds, you' ll be redirected. It also reminds them to change their bookmark. I thought this would be a helpful feature. I' ll be keeping both URLs up for a while yet (the original one is free so no sense deleting it yet).

Thanks for any info,
DLMST

<meta http-equiv=" Refresh" content=" 5 URL=http://www.url.com" >

Put the Above into the heading, 5 is the delay which you can change, Just replace the URL with the one you want to redirect too.

This will automatically send them to the new Page

Hi,

<META HTTP-EQUIV=" refresh" CONTENT=" 5; URL=http://www.yoursitehere.com" >

You put this inbetween the head tags. CONTENT=" 5 this controls how many seconds before it happens just change 5 to whatever you want. This should also all be on one line.

<edit>Gotta type faster I guess :).</edit>
